At a recent KPCB event co-hosted with Airbnb SF, design luminary John Maeda presented his second annual #DesignInTech 2016 report and convened 200 Design x Tech leaders to discuss the role of the creative class in Silicon Valley. The event highlighted a variety of perspectives for designers working at the intersection of business and technology.
Guest speakers included Ben Blumenfeld (General Partner & Co-founder, Designer Fund), Katie Dill (Head of Experience Design, Airbnb), Emi Kolawole (Sr. Media Designer, Stanford d.school), Helena Price (Silicon Valley Photographer), Tom Suiter (Co-founder, Enjoy) and Jackie Xu (Talent Partner, KPCB).

Legendary venture capital firm, KPCB, hosts an annual CEO Workshop for 100+ CEOs across their portfolio in digital, life sciences and green tech industries. The day long event consists of intimate discussions, breakout sessions and networking with other CEOs, KPCB partners and industry experts. In celebration of SXSW, KPCB hosted a Startup Salon networking event bringing together 500 attendees across KP's portfolio companies, local Austin entrepreneurs and VC firms for a fun evening of conversation and drinks. Guests enjoyed specialty drinks from MyFitnessPal, sampled Beyond Meat's innovative plant based 'beast burger', and learned about the latest digital health innovations through Rock Health's startup showcase.
KPCB's engineering meetup series focuses on the best ways to grow a company from "12 to 200" employees. KPCB General Partners, Mike Abbott and Eric Feng led technical discussions on how to integrate engineering and management at the growth stage to best practices on working cross functionally with engineering orgs. Meetup panelists featured technical leaders from Airbnb, Google X, Twitter, Oculus, Facebook, Dropbox, One Medical Group, and Nest.
